Policy Priorities

The Coalition’s priorities are all oriented toward guarding the interests of students and the investments taxpayers make in federal financial aid programs. Participants in the coalition share a commitment to addressing waste, fraud, and abuse of financial aid programs and predatory practices that disproportionately target students of color, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, women, and veterans—exacerbating longstanding equity gaps in higher education. The federal Higher Education Act provides authority to put strong protections in place, and we work together to ensure the promise of the law is enacted in the experiences students have, regardless of the sector of higher education in which they are enrolled.
