Among those who have had to wait too long for debt relief are more than 200,000 students who say they were tricked into taking valueless courses at for-profit college chains such as the now-defunct ITT Technical Institute and Corinthian Colleges. DeVos’ own staff found that those schools defrauded students by making misleading assurances about the jobs that students would find after training and about the money they would earn.

@DrAngelaD @ewarren Interesting but not at all surprising most the resistance coming out against #CancelAllStudentDebt is from ppl associated w/ educational institutions. After attending #negreg it was apparent schools r the largest lobby & benefit most from predation via predatory loans.
Biden Admin is also considering excluding grad students from new #IDR plan it is creating. Many on #negreg cmte raised same concerns I just did. Hopefully, ED takes these arguments into consideration before IDR plan is finalized. /6
We urged lawmakers at the #NegReg to reconsider changes to the 90/10 rule that would restrict #Veteran education choices. We were glad to see others, including @AUSNTweets, @EANGUS72, MCF, @ncoausa, and @SOAAorg express similar concerns.

I hope this means the Prison Education Program NPRM is coming out soon. #negreg #PellYes
ED intends to fully implement legislative changes to allow eligible students in college-in-prison programs to access Federal Pell Grants beginning on July 1, 2023. [4/5]
